Here are some of our past Projects:

Orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) care and support: In Siaya, Bondo and Kakamega Districts, DWELE facilitates psychosocial therapy and support the respective OVC, especially the HIV&AIDS affected and infected.

Mobile HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT) among the grassroots transporters (Boda boda operators) as MARPs in Bondo District. Project closely works with DHMT, especially the offices of DMLT and DASCO. This ended in December 2011.

Education: This has mainly been on limited individual donor sponsorships in terms of payment of school fees and in-kind educational materials. The education programme targets the orphans and vulnerable children due to their special needs.

Gender and Women Empowerment: The programme focuses on psychosocial empowerment of women and girls that survived the sexual gender-based violence (SGBV) during Kenya's 2007/8 post-election violence (PEV).

Elderly Support Programme: This had been undertaken in collaboration with Catholic Church in Butere/Mumias. The project ended in 2009.

Household Livelihood Security: Promotion of Group Savings and Loaning (GS&L) Methodology that mitigates the socio-economic impacts of HIV&AIDS and poverty.
